Who uses this app
Personal Mail Helper is used only by its owner, on the owner's own Gmail accounts. It is not offered to the public.
What data it accesses
With the owner's consent through Google sign-in, the app can access Gmail messages, attachments, labels and filter settings of the signed-in account. It uses these Google permissions:
gmail.modify: read messages and attachments, add or remove labels, move messages to Trash. This permission cannot permanently delete mail.gmail.settings.basic: create and manage Gmail filters.
How the data is used
- Messages are read to produce summaries and highlight important mail for the owner.
- Attachments are saved to the owner's own computer.
- Advertising and spam can be moved to Trash, where Gmail keeps them for 30 days before removal.
- Filters are created only after the owner approves the list of senders.
Where the data goes
- The app runs on the owner's own computer. Sign-in tokens are stored there and are never uploaded anywhere.
- To write summaries, message text may be sent to an AI assistant (Anthropic Claude) that works only on the owner's behalf. The owner has turned off use of this data for AI model training.
- Data is not sold, not shared with advertisers, and not used for any purpose other than the features above.
Use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How to remove access
Access can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Deleting the local token files on the owner's computer also stops all access.
